Background: Fox Television Stations was formed in 1986 after the acquisition of the Metromedia-owned independent stations by the 20th Century Fox film studio as a group of television stations located within the United States which are owned-and-operated by the Fox Broadcasting Company, a division of News Corporation. Until the 1990s, they syndicated television programs; they formed Twentieth Television to perform this function later on.

Left picture description: See "Logo"
Right picture description: see "Variant"

Nickname: "Fox in the Box"

Logo: On a gray/black gradient background, we see a rectangular box. A line is dividing the box in two portions, one holding the Fox Network logo of the time, one holding the text "Fox Television Stations" in a large Times New Roman font. The logo zooms out. Three black lines are seen below.

Variant: A version exists in which the text is black, there are no lines at the bottom, there is no rectangular box surrounding the logo, the background of the logo is brighter, and the color scheme in the Fox logo is slightly different.

FX: The zooming out.

MusicMusic/Sounds: The end theme.

Availability: As far as I know, this was only seen on the syndicated versions of the Nickelodeon game shows Double Dare and Finders Keepers. The last sighting of this logo on TV was on the 5:30AM airing of "Finders Keepers" on September 4, 2006 on Nick GAS.

Scare Factor: None.

2nd Logo
(1989-)

Nicknames: "FTSP", "FTSP Underwater"

Logo: Against a blue-black background, we see the letters:

FTSP
(textured, and in white)

Below that, the words:
F O X
TELEVISION STATIONS PRODUCTIONS
(also in white)

are shown. A rippling effect is given to the logo, making it appear as if it is underwater.

FX: The CGI rippling, which holds up very well to this day.

MusicMusic/Sounds: None or the closing theme of the show, but Fox plays a remix of the 20th Century fanfare over the logo at the end of newer episodes of Cops.

Availability: Still seen at the end of more recent episodes of Cops.

Scare Factor: None.
